Oct 25 2008 - Kingwood Library
What follows is a narrative of the colonial miniature's game that we played (Oct 25th 2008 in Kingwood Library) using Gabriel Landowski's rules DHR (Damned Human Race) and 1/72 scale Italeri miniatures from Woodrow's. The specific boxed sets used for this scenario were ITA6050 and ITA6051. You will find that Italeri figures are also produced by ESCI (I'm not sure who produced the original mold).
The scenario's title is "Unaguafria 1879." It's a fictional scenario that takes place in South Africa somewhere near the area where Rorke's Drift was fought. The table surface is a 5' x 6' green drop-cloth crossed by meandering river and a dirt trail that splits at two junctions; the river and trail were created with fine art-sand. The initial setup is has the British troops deploy in a square somewhere south west of the Unaguafria river in the open area. The wooded areas were made for painted plywood, plastic moss sections and plastic palm trees (palm trees from Sugarcraft).
The British start the game deployed in a square formation, anywhere west of the river. Their objective is to exit the two crates off either road where they end at the south or east edge of the table; the precise exit area is 12" wide centered on each road end. The Zulu objective is to snatch the crates from the Brits and exit them off any edge.
